Over a course of two months in 2009 I took on an art adventure where I produced a drawing every six hours across the great American Landscape. Travelling by car we hit the open road visiting the metropolises as well as the magnificently expansive terrains of Texas, The Rocky Mountains and The Grand Canyon. When I returned home these places had a significant influence on the way I could manipulate the line into gestural marks on the paper. This technique is developing my control of the brush/nip when I am creating work which looks at line, mark, memory and gesture.
